In most cases, you will do a standard OBD install.
Here are the steps:
1: Plug the cable into the OBD port.
2: Connect Eagle 1 to other end of cable.
3: Crank ignition to start engine. Device lights up.
4: Secure excess cable, and hide device under dashboard.
5: Zip tie device out of the way, to rigid metal or cables.
6: Your device is now connected.
